White Gum Wool yarns are made from sheep that have been raised on a single farm in the high midlands of Tasmania. The 17-micron, superfine “saxon” merino wool is the calibre of wool used in the finest of Italian men’s suiting, and gives an amazing softness and handle to the yarn.

WGS 5 Ply Sport is a 30/70 blend of tussah silk and WGW superfine merino. It's a bulky 5-ply, due to the high loft of the fibre. The different dye responses of the two fibres result in a subtle heathered look.
